Child spacing - A must for a healthy family

Having a child is one of the most important life-changing decisions in building a family. It has various implications in terms of the mother’s health as well as the financial health of the family. So, it becomes even more important to plan carefully for a second child, considering:
It takes years for a woman to recover to complete health after a child birth.
A woman loses essential nutrients and the ability to recover in case she has her next child soon after a child birth.
Having another child soon after a child birth can lead to health risks for the child, including pre-term birth, low birth weight or small gestational size.
Health issues that arise for the mother and the child born too soon after a child birth could lead to high medical expenses.
Having two children in quick succession can cause financial stress on the family, leading to lower quality of life in many ways.
Child Spacing – For health and wellbeing
All the above-mentioned problems can be managed through child spacing. Child spacing is giving enough time between a child birth and the next pregnancy; experts suggest that there should be at least a gap of 1000 days before planning for the next child.
Child spacing gives enough time for the woman to recover to complete health, regain the nutrition she had lost during the child birth, and have a safe and healthy pregnancy when she decides to have the next child. Child spacing upholds the right of the woman to prioritise her health and wellbeing, and ensures her right to choose when she can have the next child. It also gives enough time for the family to raise enough wealth and resources to run the family smoothly and ensure better quality of life for the children.
